Vigía checks a Celo payment before it is sent. An app, wallet, merchant or agent sends Vigía a payment link or an unsigned transaction. Vigía decodes it, runs a set of Celo rules and answers ok, revisa (review) or no_firmes (don't sign), with a rule ID and a plain reason. The rules catch mistakes specific to Celo that general EVM tools miss: wrong decimals, the fee adapter used as the token, unlimited approvals, sends to a token contract, the wrong chain and amount mismatches. Apps and agents call POST /api/check and pay 0.01 USDC per check through x402. People who open a payment link in MiniPay land on /pay, where the same check runs for free. Live on Celo mainnet since October 19, 2026 (ERC-8004 agentId 9978). Open source under MIT.
Make every payment on Celo pass a check before anyone signs it.
A payment on-chain does not come back. On Celo, mixed 6- and 18-decimal stablecoins and fee adapters add their own ways to get a payment wrong, and agents paying on their own and people paying from a phone do not read calldata.
A deterministic check, called in code before the signature, paid per call through x402, free for people in MiniPay.
