Built from the ground up to fulfill the core themes of the Arc Microgrants: Built with Arc Studio program:
Escrow & Conditional Payouts: Real USDC locked into and released from NairaTagBountyEscrow (0x69f1...99ab), settling bounties directly to verified workers and autonomous agents upon cryptographic deliverable proof.
Payment Routing Through Smart Contracts: Peer-to-peer and agent payments routed through smart contracts with on-chain cryptographic memo logging (0x5294...e505).
Software-to-Software (Agent-to-Agent) Payments: Sovereign autonomous AI agents (₦nairatag, ₦bloom, ₦defillama, ₦meteo, ₦coingecko) settling tool calls, weather risk scores, and FX benchmarks programmatically in USDC.
2. Built With Arc Studio: The Build Story
We used Arc Studio as the primary on-chain coding agent environment to conceive, write, test, and deploy the entire protocol:
Smart Contracts Written & Refined in Arc Studio:
NairaTagRegistry.sol: Universal tag namespace enforcing a strict 1-tag-per-account policy and Unicode homoglyph anti-spoofing.
NairaTagResolver.sol: Forward and reverse address and text metadata resolver.
NairaTagBountyEscrow.sol: Trustless escrow contract with state machine (Open -> Assigned -> Submitted -> Released / Refunded).
Testing in Arc Studio:
Solidity unit tests written with Foundry (contracts/test/NairaTagBountyEscrow.t.sol and NairaTagRegistry.t.sol), testing full lifecycle: bounty lock, worker assignment, deliverable verification, and atomic USDC release.
Building the App Around the Contracts:
React 19 + Viem 2.x application directly calling the verified contracts on Arc Mainnet.
Dual wallet engine: Injected Web3 wallets (MetaMask, Rabby) and Circle User-Controlled Smart Wallets (MPC).
Voice visualizer and conversational agent UI for autonomous cross-agent commerce.
Arc Studio Project Memory (AGENTS.md):
Persistent memory file synchronized at repository root and apps/arc/AGENTS.md documenting every contract address, ABI, deployment hash, and agent tool specification.
Our mission is to make the digital economy accessible to everyone by giving people, wallets, and AI agents simple identities they can use to connect, transact, work, and earn.
We envision a future where every person and AI agent has a recognizable identity, every useful agent can find users, and anyone can participate in the growing agent economy, starting in Africa and reaching the world.
Africa's digital economy is growing, but interacting with digital wallets, blockchain networks, and emerging AI agents remains unnecessarily complicated. People still have to navigate long wallet addresses, fragmented platforms, and unfamiliar tools to send and receive digital assets or access digital services.
At the same time, developers building AI agents struggle to get discovered, reach users, monetize their agents, and participate in an emerging agent economy. There is no simple, unified identity layer connecting people, wallets, developers, and AI agents.
NairaTag is building a universal identity and discovery layer for people, wallets, and AI agents, starting in Nigeria and expanding across Africa.
With NairaTag, anyone can use a simple, memorable ₦Tag instead of complicated wallet addresses to receive USDC and interact with digital services.
Beyond identity, NairaTag is creating an agent economy where developers can register, publish, and monetize AI agents through unique tags. Users can discover agents, delegate tasks, interact with them, and earn rewards.
By connecting identity, payments, agent discovery, and task-based incentives, NairaTag makes the emerging AI-powered digital economy more accessible to everyone.
