Inheritance Dollar (IND) is an open-source programmable custody and asset-protection protocol built exclusively on Ethereum.
IND addresses fundamental risks of cryptocurrency self-custody: stolen signing keys, fraudulent or mistaken transfers, lost access to wallets, and inaccessible digital assets after prolonged inactivity or death.
Unlike conventional token transfers, IND introduces protected balances, delayed ownership, revocable transfers, and a separation between everyday signing authority and recovery/revocation authority. These mechanisms are enforced by deterministic Ethereum smart contracts, without relying on centralized custodians.
The IND protocol is already deployed on Ethereum Mainnet. Its smart contracts and technical documentation are publicly available on GitHub. IND Bank, a desktop wallet for macOS, Windows and Linux, provides an interface for interacting with the protocol.
Our current priorities are independent security audits, formal verification, wallet improvements, and broader adoption.
Our mission is to make Ethereum self-custody safer, more recoverable, and suitable for long-term asset preservation and inheritance.
Our mission is to make Ethereum self-custody safer, more resilient, and accessible for long-term wealth preservation.
We believe that losing a private key, signing a malicious transaction, or becoming unable to access a wallet should not automatically result in the permanent loss of digital assets.
Through deterministic, open-source smart contracts, IND aims to give users greater control over asset protection, transaction revocation, recovery, and inheritance without surrendering custody to centralized intermediaries.
Our long-term vision is to make programmable asset protection a fundamental building block of the Ethereum ecosystem, enabling individuals and families to preserve and transfer digital wealth more safely across generations.
Ethereum self-custody exposes users to risks that conventional wallets cannot adequately address.
A compromised private key can allow an attacker to transfer assets irreversibly. Users can also lose funds by signing malicious transactions, sending assets to incorrect addresses, or losing access to their private keys.
Traditional hardware wallets protect private keys but cannot reverse an authorized transaction once executed. Multisignature wallets and account recovery mechanisms address some of these risks, but they do not necessarily protect against transactions authorized by a compromised everyday signing key.
Long-term custody introduces additional challenges. Digital assets may become permanently inaccessible when their owners lose access, become incapacitated, or die without an effective inheritance mechanism.
These limitations make self-custody particularly difficult for individuals who want to preserve substantial digital assets over many years without relying on centralized custodians.
Inheritance Dollar (IND) introduces programmable asset protection directly at the Ethereum smart-contract level.
The protocol implements protected balances and delayed ownership, allowing protected transfers to remain revocable during a predefined protection period instead of becoming immediately irreversible.
IND separates everyday signing authority from recovery and revocation authority. Users can keep their signing key available for routine operations while storing their recovery/revocation key separately, reducing the consequences of a compromised everyday key.
The protocol also provides recovery mechanisms and inactivity-based inheritance functionality designed to support long-term asset preservation.
These protections follow deterministic on-chain rules rather than discretionary decisions by a centralized custodian.
IND is already deployed on Ethereum Mainnet, with publicly available smart-contract source code and automated tests. IND Bank, our desktop wallet for macOS, Windows and Linux, provides an interface for using the protocol.
We are seeking ecosystem support to strengthen security through independent audits and formal verification, improve wallet usability, and make protected Ethereum self-custody accessible to a broader audience.
IND combines an open-source Ethereum custody protocol with a native token issued through a deterministic, buy-only bonding curve. The protocol is already operational on Ethereum Mainnet. Future commercial opportunities include products and services built around IND, particularly the IND Bank desktop wallet and security-related services. The project is currently pre-revenue and is seeking non-dilutive funding for security audits, formal verification, development, and adoption.
