AbaPay is agent-payment infrastructure, It's a non-custodial settlement layer on Celo that turns an approved on-chain spend into a delivered real-world outcome, reachable by any MCP client or any x402-aware agent, including ones AbaPay never built or operates.
Three reusable rails: x402 (zero setup — any wallet signs an EIP-3009 authorization and settles through Celo's own facilitator, no account needed, 83.1% of Celo volume), MCP (10 tools over Streamable HTTP JSON-RPC), and A2A/REST. Settlement is a bounded, revocable on-chain allowance the payer sets themselves — never a deposit, never custody. A failed delivery triggers an automatic on-chain refund, not a support ticket.
Live on Celo mainnet since 7 April 2026 (current contract: AbaPayV4, deployed 21 July 2026). As of 23 September 2026: 4,181 settled Celo payments, 216 unique wallets (19.4 payments/wallet — real repeat use), $27,386 settled volume. Verifiable identity via ERC-8004 (Celo agent 9687, 8004scan.io/agents/celo/9687). Source: MIT-licensed, github.com/investorphem/AbaPay.
Give every AI agent a way to turn an approved on-chain spend into a delivered real-world outcome — starting with the bills people actually pay every day — without needing AbaPay to build the client, hold custody, or gatekeep access.
Agents can move stablecoins, but almost nothing lets them finish the job: paying an actual electricity bill, topping up airtime, or settling a real-world invoice. That last mile still requires a human-facing checkout flow, an account, or a custodial intermediary — exactly the kind of friction that makes "autonomous agent commerce" theoretical rather than real. Wallets that can sign a payment have no standard way to prove that payment bought something real.
AbaPay is a non-custodial settlement layer on Celo with three protocol-native entry points — x402 (zero setup, EIP-3009 authorization, no account), MCP (10 tools over Streamable HTTP JSON-RPC), and A2A/REST — so any agent, including ones AbaPay never built or operates, can settle a real-world bill against a bounded, revocable on-chain allowance it sets itself. Delivery is handled by a licensed bill-aggregation API on confirmed settlement; a failed delivery refunds automatically on-chain, not through a support ticket. 4,181 settled Celo payments, 216 unique wallets, 83.1% of volume agent-originated via x402, as of 23 September 2026.
